Matt Heckle, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in medical oncology. Matt cares for patients with solid organ cancers — including cancer of the prostate, lung, breast and colon — who experience side effects from their cancer treatments. Matt provides symptom treatment care outside the patient's regular primary care team. It's very important to Matt that his patients are involved in their own care. He advocates for open communication and establishes clear expectations regarding treatment plans. Matt also incorporates palliative care into his practice to reduce the suffering his patients experience. He is dedicated to helping them navigate their treatments while minimizing side effects.
