Lisa Semmann, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in orthopedics and sports medicine. She cares for people who need surgery to treat injuries, fractures and other conditions involving the bones, muscles, joints, ligaments and tendons. These surgeries include shoulder replacements, rotator cuff repairs and knee surgeries, such as ACL and meniscus repairs. As a nurse practitioner, Lisa prepares her patients for their procedures. She educates them about their injuries and explains how their surgery is designed to help reduce pain or restore function. She answers questions and helps patients understand what to expect during the recovery period. She also offers information about plans for physical therapy. As needed, Lisa assists in surgery.
