Jessica Derks, NP, is a UW Health Kids nurse practitioner who specializes in neonatology. Jessica cares for newborns who have complex health needs, including babies who were born prematurely and babies who need surgical care. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, she commonly provides pre- and post-operative care for babies who have undergone bowel perforation repair surgery and heart surgery. She also cares for babies who have congenital diaphragmatic hernias, or CDH (hole in the chest formed at birth).
