Emily Cardamone, NP, is a UW Health nurse practitioner in gastroenterology. Emily cares for people with medical conditions that affect the gastrointestinal (digestive) tract. This includes the mouth, throat, esophagus, stomach and intestines. Emily sees patients who have trouble swallowing, reflux issues, abdominal pain, irritable bowel syndrome, constipation, diarrhea and other issues. During her patients' first visit, Emily enjoys getting to know them. She asks about their symptoms and listens to their concerns. She involves patients in decision-making by giving them several treatment options and then creates a personalized care plan. The most rewarding moments of her career happen when patients return and say they're feeling better.
