Laura Van Voorhis is a board-certified nurse practitioner that works with patients experiencing advanced heart disease. She spent 12 years working as a registered nurse in critical care settings prior to earning her Master of Science in Nursing and her Adult Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner credentials from Boise State University, Boise, Idaho. “I started taking care of patients as a CNA when I was 16, caring for society’s most vulnerable populations. I have worked in a variety of settings, and I still appreciate the privilege I have to care for others. My personal philosophy includes advocating for human dignity, authenticity and accountability,” shares Van Voorhis.
