Lisa Simpson has worked in the nursing field for 35 years. During this time, she has worked in several areas including medical/surgical, inpatient hospice, emergency department, and the critical care in coronary care unit. For the past ten years, she served as a consultant for pain management. She chose to continue her education and earned an advanced degree as a family nurse practitioner through an accelerated program in 2011. She expanded her role in pain management as an advanced practice provider in the inpatient setting. She enjoys the complexity of patient care and feels rewarded when her patients receive comfort.
