Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: From the time I was a little girl, I knew I'd be a nurse. As I finished college with my nursing degree, I began to explore furthering my education. I became a nurse practitioner because I love the compassionate part of nursing along with the opportunity to diagnose and treat my patients for their acute and chronic conditions. I enjoy interacting with my patients, teaching them and helping them explore ways to improve or maintain their health. I chose family practice because of the wide range of ages, as well as the chance to care for my patients during both illness and health. What I do when I'm not seeing patients: My free time is most often spent with my husband and our four children.
