Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I chose to pursue a career in medicine because I have always had a deep desire to help others. I have had personal experiences providing care for loved ones, which enhanced my interest to dedicate my career to helping others. I worked as an RN in a hospital for nine years and wanted to further my education and play a larger part in decision-making for my patients. This is the desire that compelled me to pursue the training and education of a nurse practitioner. Also, I was excited to embrace a profession where I can continue to learn and advance my knowledge.
