Why I chose to pursue a career in healthcare: I have always enjoyed taking care of people and started as a candy striper at WellSpan York Hospital when I was a teenager. I went to York College to become a registered nurse (RN). I worked in WellSpan York Hospital on medical/surgical floors, oncology, and the ICU. I enjoyed nursing very much but wanted to be more independent, so I decided to return to school (Millersville University) to become a nurse practitioner (NP). I was working in radiation oncology in an outpatient setting when I returned to college. What I want my patients to know about me: After graduating from NP school, I started in internal medicine. I enjoy primary care very much.
