From this foundation, they can talk together about options for care.Coming from a family of nurses, Waibel knew she wanted to work in health care early in her life. She earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing at the University of Texas-Arlington. She worked as an emergency room nurse for 10 years before becoming a nurse practitioner. She received her master’s degree in nursing at Chamberlain University in Downers Grove, Illinois. A former Texan, Waibel and her husband have raised four daughters in Oregon.
