I became a nurse for the same reason many of us do: I love helping people. I started my nursing career in the ER, and while I loved the fast pace, I really longed to connect more deeply with my patients, follow their progress and monitor their outcomes. \n So, I returned to school for my nurse practitioner degree. Practicing family medicine allows me to care for my patients over many years - something I consider a great privilege.
