Mallory Lloyd, APRN-C, has experienced countless beautiful moments during her more than 10 years in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine and inpatient settings. One that comes to mind immediately was watching and celebrating with a 25-year-old patient walking confidently out of the hospital doors just days after he suffered a massive heart attack, the nurse practitioner said. We had done extensive CPR on him before he was admitted to the ICU in critical condition. He wore a huge smile on his face and was so grateful to staff for saving his life. It still moves me to think of his miraculous recovery, and it reminds me exactly why I went into medicine.
