Cassie McGaffey, APRN, has always been interested in how the brain influences the body. She decided to pursue a career in medicine after working a home for adults with disabilities. Today, as a part of the neurology staff at Methodist Physicians Clinic, McGaffey enjoys developing patient-provider relationships built on education. I love educating and helping people live better lives, she said. But I always take the time to listen to my patients and admit when I don't know something. Listening, she said, is a key part to helping each patient experience The Meaning of Care. The Meaning of Care means always getting to know the patients and their families to make them feel heard and cared for, she said.
