About Janus It was somewhere between middle school and high school that Janus Flora knew he wanted a career in medicine. “I don’t come from a long line of medical professionals,” he says. “Somehow I just knew that would be my path. I’m actually the first person in my family to graduate college.” As a family nurse practitioner, Janus helps to manage patients’ medical conditions while they’re in the hospital. “I enjoy helping people by treating acute medical issues, while also balancing chronic conditions,” he explains, noting that building a rapport with his patients is extremely important. “That’s especially helpful when it comes to educating them on what they must do and what to avoid, so they can be on board with their care plan.
