About Harrison Walter For Harrison Walter, the decision to have a career in medicine happened at a young age. He helped his grandmother battle cancer and, while in nursing school, helped his father after open-heart surgery. “As a nurse practitioner, I treat the mind, soul and physical body to the best of my ability to improve my patients’ quality of life,” he says. He picked trauma as his specialty, because he wanted to help people during their urgent, unexpected needs. Harrison follows patients through recovery and discharge. Harrison earned a degree as an Adult Gerontology Nurse Practitioner, MSN, from Spring Arbor University in Michigan.
