Shermaine Acosta is an advanced practice registered nurse and certified family nurse practitioner with the Orlando Health Cancer Institute Reflux and Esophageal Disorder Center in Winter Garden. She diagnoses, evaluates, and treats reflux issues and works closely with the thoracic surgery team. Shermaine strives to treat each patient as if they are a family member. She began her nursing career in 2009 and also has experience in pediatric epilepsy, neurology, and sleep medicine, critical care, burn trauma, and dialysis. Shermaine received her nursing training from Cebu Doctors' University in Mandaue City, Philippines, and earned her master’s degree in nursing in the family nurse practitioner program at Walden University in Minneapolis, MN.
