Theresa Piper, CNM, is a certified nurse midwife who cares for mothers during pregnancy and childbirth and offers a range of other healthcare services to keep women well. While studying exercise physiology at University of Delaware, Theresa was asked by her former sister-in-law to be her support person when giving birth. Theresa describes this experience as the most amazing thing she had ever seen. She decided then it was her calling to work in labor and delivery. After being there again years later when she delivered a second baby, Theresa knew she wanted to extend her schooling to become a midwife. Theresa worked as a labor and delivery nurse at Bayhealth for nearly ten years.
